NE31 Tri Club

NE31 triathlon club are a thriving team based in the Borough of South Tyneside in North East England. The club started back in 2000 through the idea of four friends who realised that there was no triathlon club in the South Tyneside area. The club name “NE31” comes from the area postcode which makes us easy to find. Over time, the team has developed into one of the top clubs in the North East region. In 2004, the men’s team finished 2 nd in the North East Grand Prix triathlon series- no mean feat as the champions were also the winners of the national club relay championships, hartlepooltriathletes.com. NE31 now boasts around 40 members from novice to seasoned triathletes, juniors to veterans. Our members also include ex-international runners and cyclists as well as ex-national standard swimmers. Each year we hold our own sprint triathlon with a kid’s race the day before. We recently achieved StarMark and ClubMark status which entitles us to funding and excellent coaching. In all, we are a friendly club who welcome anyone aged 8 and over to come and try a tri or simply keep fit. Interested? See our member’s page for more details on how to join us.
